76-year-old arrested for wrongly touching Channelview ISD student walking to school

Authorities say a 76-year-old man improperly handled a Channelview Independent School District student last week, hence arresting and charging him.

Calvin William Morris is now under a $50,000 bond charge for indecency with a child—sexual contact.

Channelview ISD sent a memo to parents on Friday, November 8, stating that Morris approached an Aguirre Junior High School student walking to school and then improperly grabbed him.

Morris was caught finally after the youngster reported authorities.

Along with other parents and community members, school administrators claimed the student’s parents were alerted right away.

“Our first concern is the protection of our pupils; so, under no circumstances will we accept actions endangering their welfare. Channelview ISD noted, “Additional police were sent to the area to further protect our students.”

Morris was charged with a sex offense against a kid in 1974; court records reveal fondling and a five-year probationary sentence.

He was charged with a sex offense against a kid a few years later, in 1982; fondling resulted in a two-year probationary term.

Morris has court scheduled for February 11, 2025.
